eco terrorists?

the new idea of terrorists destroying in the name of the planet. these new terrorists are interesting to me because they fight for a cause which i can identify with. although i agree with their ideals, i disagree with their measures. but is this not just another form of revolting. they have tried traditional ways such as mass demonstrations and protests, and have obviously been ignored. so isn't this the next logical step?

what makes demonstrations for regime change, not just acceptable but also celebrated, but terroristic measures for similar causes frowned upon? they both hurt innocent people, both are 'illegal' measures of action, and both have mass support.

this also raises the question of a successful democracy. if people arent being listened to and are as a result taking such drastic measures, isnt there clearly something wrong with the political system? isnt it also ironic that we, living in a democracy, agree with mass protests in relation to regime change towards democracy, but disagree with similar actions just because they may or may not agree with our national principles?

i have added the link, incase anyone is interested in finding out more about it.
