I found it very interesting, as it shows clearly the power of the state, and the power of the people. i agree that killing three people in a fire is gone to far, though on the other hand, maybe that was their only option. maybe their protests would have never made it to NZ news, had three people not died from it. and if comparing this to the french revolution, where hundreds of people died. no one ever says that the the french revolution was a bad idea. which is why i say, keep an open mind before you read this article. though it is very informative, it is only telling one side of a story.

ReplyDeleteI don't agree that killing people is ever justifiable, and it should never be seen as a last resort to get your voice heard. If one decides that death is the only way to get heard, why not kill yourself like the Buddhist monks who immolated themselves in protest of the Vietnamese regime in 1963 instead of innocent employee's going about their own daily business.
But clearly death is not even needed to make news these days with the skewed perception of what is deemed newsworthy in this day and age. These articles prove that:
