27 Soviet divisions, including 6,300 tanks and 400,000 troops were used to crush the 1968 Prague Spring in Czechoslovakia, where Communist reformers (liberalizers) and mass mobilization were conspiring to lead Czechoslovakia to a more democratic regime. That is what hardliner repression looks like.
