Crowdsourcing a Democracy Index

Over at my "public" blog, I describe how we used the allourideas website to generate a democracy index, and what I would expect from opening it up to the public. What do you think will happen if enough people participate in the ranking? Will a "crowdsourced" index become more accurate if people from all over the world vote on it? Or less accurate?
