Found this interesting article about how China's authoritarianism is decaying and becoming a personalized rule under Xi Ping. The domestic political crackdown is being sustained while new institutions such as the National Security commission report directly to Xi Ping rather than the CCP. Interestingly, it is also argued that this centralization of power is addressing weaknesses in the Chinese government as it continues its path as a rising power.
