I Haven't seen a lot of coverage on this, It would appear people in Honduras are not happy with their current President. Juan Orlando Hernández was elected in 2014 and despite a one term limit on the Presidency, the Supreme Electoral Tribunal allowed Hernández to run a second time. Fast forward a couple of years and the President's Brother, Juan Antonio (Tony) Hernández is sitting in a US Prison awaiting trial for drug trafficking. Recently a Court Document related to Tony's trial was declassified. Despite not including names the document indicates that drug money was used to help elect the Honduran President in 2013. This has lead to mass protests calling for Hernández's Resignation. It will be interesting to see whether Hernández does give in to public pressure and resign or whether he believes his position is strong enough to keep the the Presidency and brush off the allegations of Corruption.
