A really interesting article on how North Korea has has revised the 10 fundamental principles of the ruling Workers’ Party from being based around communism to monarchical rule of the Kim family.
With this weeks topic on winning coalition; this would solidify the idea in North Korea that the Kim family no longer needs the ordinary people in his winning coalition. By replacing the main ideas of socialism and communism and replacing it with juche ideology; it clarifies the only real winning coalition Kim Jung Un needs is the military. One way of looking at this change is that it is another way of legitimizing giving the majority of resources to the military and keeping the top military brass happy.
It could be a possible political maneuver by Kim Jung Un to ensure the support of the military and prevent generals in the military from thinking about staging a coup. With the biggest threat Kim Jung Un is facing is an internal threat(military coup), it is an excellent idea by him to solidify his rule in North Korea.
I think Red Godfather pointed out in the previous thread on this (http://politicalpathologies2.blogspot.co.nz/2013/08/and-may-they-prosper.html - three people found the same article!) that this may be South Korean propaganda - it's not clear that this is true. (It could be true but my more reliable sources don't seem to have noticed at all, and I haven't seen it anywhere else).
