Sudan's new cabinet

An Al Jazeera article published recently provides details about Sudan's newest cabinet, the first cabinet to be sworn in since former president Omar al-Bashir was removed in April. The article first seems to focus on the fact that four women are members of the new cabinet, taking roles such as Foreign Minister and Finance Minister. The article then discusses the actions the new cabinet will be taking to reform Sudan, negotiating with the pro-democracy movement, looking to resolve various conflicts in the region, and reviving the country's economy. These appear to be valid, progressive steps to be taking, however, it is still very early days for this cabinet, so it will be interesting to see how effective they are during this transitional period, and whether they can live up to their promises. Given that the new arrangements were negotiated by civilian protestors and military personnel, achieving long-term political stability will be the main aim.
