When looking into whether regime classification affects a state's likelihood of conflict I find Israel an interesting case study, as It is portrayed by the US as the shining beacon of democracy in the Middle East. yet as we have seen over the last few weeks, it has certainly shown its tendency for violence, now even more so with its neighboring nations. This could connect with the discussion around Israel's actual regime classification, is it actually a democracy? Is it in fact Authoritarian and therefore commits violence more frequently? or is this a flaw in the liberal/democratic peace theory?
