Blog grades available

Hi all,

Grades are now available for the last week of blog contributions. You can access them via the "My Grades" feature on Blackboard, I think; let me know if you cannot find them. 

For people who didn't need to contribute an explanatory blog post/reading review, there is only a single grade, on a scale of 0-3, for all contributions up until 5 pm on Thursday. These informal contributions are graded according to the following criteria: 0 points, no contribution or irrelevant contribution; 1 points, very minimal comment or insufficiently relevant contribution; 2 points, regular contribution; 3 points, exceptional contribution. Thanks for all your contributions!   

If you contributed but didn't receive any points, let me know - it is possible that I may have missed something. Some of you have already achieved 20 points for the regular blog component, the maximum possible score. If so, it is possible that you should not see a grade or should see a lower than expected grade even if you contributed something this last week (since you cannot get more than 20 points for the regular contributions). Check the "total blog so far" column in My Grades if you think you are in this position. I should note that even if you have already achieved the maximum number of points, you are welcome to keep contributing!

For people whose turn it was to do an explanatory blog post/reading review, there are two grades - the grade for the explanatory blog post (from 0 to 10), and the grade for the regular contribution (2 points automatically if you complete the assignment; 3 points for A quality work). There is a rubric associated with your grade for the explanatory blog post, as well as (in most cases) some feedback; make sure to click on the grade details to see the grade breakdown and the rubric.

Next week, it's the turn of people with IDs ending in 1 or 8 to do the explanatory blog post/reading review. Check your details in the "assignment deadlines" link on Blackboard; 1s put up their posts on the blog on Tuesday before the lecture (by 14:10), 8s on Thursday before the lecture.
