  1. I'm so confused with contradiction. He says too many people are the problem yet wants NZ to be on the council. Claims that the UN is a "hostage to the interests of the most powerful", yet that is the way that a large percentage of the population views New Zealand's position in the international sphere.
    Obviously the veto system isn't 'fair' but international politics isn't about being 'fair'. Even if New Zealand got on the Security Council and convinced the others of a reform to minimise others veto power, big players would be outraged and potentially walk out. You can't just remove power and expect peace. The UN could collapse. Key lives in an ideal world.
