This article revolves around how the ongoing Ukraine War has contributed to a transition from authoritarianism to totalitarianism. The article states in depth how Russia was simply authoritarian prior to the Ukraine War as state control didn't extend past the political sphere. However, the Ukraine War has made it such that Russia is no longer satisfied with a demobilised silence from the masses and now seems to take more extreme measures to ensure citizens praise the regime. The article accurately points out how Russia is bridging on totalitarianism - especially when you read further and discover that Russia holds classes in school as to how to combat fake news, general encouragement for the war, and even having kindergarten children learning about symbols of 'special operation'. While nobody can be sure at exactly how totalitarian Russia is during this war, Russia seems inclined to have political influence over social matters in order to rally support for the war.
