Trump faces outrage after telling Christian audience that they "won't have to vote again".
I saw this topic touched on in a previous post but found it so outrageous that I wanted to add to it. Toward the end of his speech at the Believers Summit in West Palm Beach, Florida Trump is quoted as saying “Christians, get out and vote, just this time. You won’t have to do it anymore … You got to get out and vote. In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good you’re not going to have to vote.” Most reasonable people around the world have rightly interpreted this as Trump eluding to becoming a dictator or something like it if he is elected. We know that Trump is fond of Vladimir Putin who has stayed in power in Russia in some form or another for the last 20 years. I think that it is not crazy to assume that Trump would attempt to change or destroy American democracy in a way that would allow him to stay in power for the remainder of his life before passing it off to someone he trusts, potentially even his son Barron which would essentially create a 'Trump dynasty'.
Trump at this point in his campaign is doubling down on his pandering to the Evangelical Christian right, as the withdrawal of Joe Biden from the race has caught the Republicans off guard as it seemed like many of Trump's talking points were centered around Biden's age-related incompetency. This has meant that he has had to take a new approach where he figures that if he can essentially rally the Christian population of the US enough he will be able to solidify power.
