Dictatorships and Confusion V

Any of you read the newspaper on the 8th of april? The article titled 'Obama: US not at war with Islam', which described the changes that the new Obama administration is trying to make towards "a partnership with the Muslim world, which is critical in rolling back a fringe ideology that people of all faiths reject", also saying that there were "mutual interests and mutual respects", and that during the Bush era of the War on Terror (a term which obama and his admin never uses) "misunderstandings" have been made.

So all is well and good in the world then? A-ok?

"One of the few bursts of applause during the 25-minute speech occured . . . when [the US] commited to fight against the Kurdish separatist organisation PKK, deemed a terrorist group by the US."
(Dom Post, Weds Apr 8 2009)

Wait, what?

"Whilst the US agreeing with Turkey that the group PKK are a terrorist organization, the United States are busy supplying guns and money to it's Iranian arm - PJAK!(Which is another terrorist organization). PJAK are creating serious instability within Iran and some of the weapons are being used by the PKK to conduct a military campaign in Turkey."

I know that the PKK is officially listed as a terrorist organization internationally by a number of states and organizations, including the United States, NATO and the European Union, but didn't we just change the focus of the war on terror from Iran to the Kurds?
