The reclusive North Korean despot, who has for many months courted controversy regarding his health, has finally made a public appearance in at the annual Party conference, shortly before being reelected as 'Beloved Comrade'.
Does the regime actually need Jong-Il to be in good health, or does the strict propaganda of the governing party mean his actual physical well being is irrelevant to the enduring rule of the party?
This is especially important as he gets older; will he continue to rule into old age or pass over power to one of his sons?
