The latest election in Moldova, a former Soviet state located between Ukraine and Romania, has sparked large protests in the nations' capital, Chisinau. Protesters dispute the elections results, which resulted in the Communist Party claiming a victory. Rivals claim that the Communists' leader (who is also President), Vladimir Voronin, has abused his powers in the election.
As if Moldova's election problems aren't enough, groups within the country are pushing for Moldova and Romania to reunite, after decades of seperation.
Romania and Moldova uniting as one country would definitely not be a good idea...Is there any economic benefit to this? Seeing as they have been coerced together once under the soviet regime they definitely shouldn't reunite now...That would be going backwards!

Romania is part of the EU and NATO, Moldova is not; that maybe part of the attraction.
