I found this article which I found pretty interesting, especially considering the election in the US. The article critiques the Democratic Party's embrace of militarism, portraying it as a threat to democracy. It highlights how progressive values are undermined by supporting military interventions and high defense budgets, which can lead to a more authoritarian approach to governance. By prioritizing military solutions, the party risks diminishing democratic principles, fostering regimes that rely on force, and empowering political leaders with authoritarian tendencies. This alignment could erode civil liberties and pave the way for dictatorship-like governance under the guise of defending democracy. Certainly something to watch, there is potential for democratic back sliding if militarism becomes the norm within the normally less militaristic Democrat party.
