On Wednesday it transpired that Venezuela's opposition leader was coerced into signing a letter recognising Nicolás Maduro as the winner of the country’s disputed election as a condition of fleeing to Spain. This made me think about our conversations on Tuesdays lecture where we discussed why government propaganda is not always convincing. This can occur when the information conflicts with other trusted sources of information and through the assumption of bias. Especially after Gonzales released a video on social media disputing this claim, it doesn't seem like this will be a particularly effective move from Maduro
