Week 8 Blog Post

Related to Tuesdays lecture on censorship in China, I found this article linked below that somewhat adds on to points previously mentioned. The article talks about the concept of digital authoritarianism, touching on how the creation of the “Digital Silk Road” has only strengthened the way surveillance and censorship work in China. It also mentions the possible expansion and the trials of this concept to other nations and the damages it would have to sharing information on a global scale as well as the concerns that follow this in relation to democratic values. It’s only a short read if you wanted to check it out.
