venezuela election has just had their election but there is serious question around it being free and fair as there response from the international community had very concern about it. With a quote from the Chile president Gabriel Boric: "Maduro's regime must understand that the results are hard to believe. The international community and especially the Venezuelan people, including the millions of Venezuelans in exile, demand total transparency... From Chile we will not recognize any result that is not verifiable." this could lead to greater tension with Chile and Venezuela in south america.
some ways to draw light on the matter is looking on how Maduro party has used laws against hate and conspiracy to silence critics which just shows more that this competitive authoritarianism.
other points that could be raised is that an unfair playing field with the ruling party have control over the media and the election institutions and with the opposition also have constations like with find a new candidate after some legal issues.
