I found a website that briefly discusses a list of the top 8 dictatorships in the world as of march this year and found it quite interesting.
Mali - Ruled by military since 2020, ascended to this power through military faction.
Myanmar - ruled by military since 2021 after positions of authority made democratic reforms.
Chad - military ruled since 2021 and dominated by military autiocracies.
Guinea - ruled by military since 2021, military takeover has persisted since marxist authoritarian reign.
Sudan - ruled by military since 2021 - siezed absoloute authority.
This list leads me to wonder, are military dictatorships more likley to stay in power for longer hold a tighter leash on citicans than the likes of one party and personalist dictatorships as well as monoarchies? What is it about these military forces that allows them to maintain this power of the countries?
